Rotherham Families First is a small, volunteer-led, award-winning charity that supports families and individuals across the Rotherham borough who are facing poverty, hardship or crisis.
We redistribute new and pre-loved essentials like clothing, baby items, household goods and toys throughout the year.
Families are referred to us anonymously by professionals, ensuring our support is given with dignity, care, and compassion.

Provision of Essential Resources
We take in pre-loved clothing, toys, baby items and household goods which we then redistribute to vulnerable or underprivileged people living in Rotherham.
Rotherham Christmas Toy Appeal
Our volunteers co-ordinate Rotherham’s longest established Christmas toy appeal which supports over 2,000 children and young people each year.
How We Work Give Quietly, Impact Loudly
What makes us unique is that all of our referrals are 100% anonymous. When a request comes through to us, all we know is what items they need, their clothing and shoe size, and the age and gender of any children.
No names. No personal details. No explanation necessary.
Why? Because everyone deserves dignity, privacy and respect. Any person, at any time, could find themselves in need of our help. They could so easily be a volunteer’s next door neighbour, friend or colleague.
We don’t need to know who they are. Our job is to help them when they need it the most.
